Frequent questions: 

1 - Does the profession give right of carrying firearm?

No. The profession doesn't supply the weapon load. In spite of the risks and dangers came by of the profession a firearm doesn't solve the problem, because, the detective's objective is to investigate, to pick information, to unmask facts among other, therefore, to walk armed definitively it doesn't aid him to reach his objectives. 

2 - Does a class council exist?

No. It doesn't exist any council and any organ fiscalized of private detective's class. There is not due to not existence of laws for the legalization of the same, therefore, Law there is not been approving this opening this it won't exist. 

3 – Is the profession regulated by Law?

Yes. The Law no. 3.099 of 24 of February of l957 sanctioned by President Juscelino Kbitschek it determines the conditions for the operation of establishments of information reserved or confidential, commercial or private. Read more about the legislation.

4 - Can the course be taken for correspondence?

Yes. In agreement with the Law no. 9.394 of 29 of December of l966 sanctioned by the President Fernando Henrique Cardoso it regulates the vocational courses the distance, in other words, for correspondence. Those teaching modality requests of the student capacity to discipline and the desire to reach the objectives. The didactic material should be practical, however efficient and innovative. 

5 - How long of duration does the course have?

The course of private investigation is considered by MEC as " free " course, in other words, for being a vocational course of the citizen and to be accomplished by correspondence the hourly load should not be demanded. There is a date for beginning but there is not date for end. The student will study and to conclude the course in agreement with the available time. 

6 - Which do the benefits belong to the student when doing the course in CUFDB?

Taking the vocational course in CUFDB the student will have support. So much during the studies as after the formation, as for instance to remove doubts with relationship the profession and to close contract. Besides this support he/she will still have the advantage of rendering services in the own city for the company, what will give experience and credibility to the professional. 

7 - Is there apprenticeship for student of another state?

No. There is not apprenticeship for student of another state. 

8 - The student's possibility has make apprenticeship going to Brasilia?

No. 

9 - Can the course be taken by the Internet?

No. We have not available the course for the Internet. The didactic material is a correspondent for the student's address. Doubts can be removed through E-mail or through the telephone. 

10 - Can a foreigner take the course of private investigator?

No. The investigation course supplied by CUFDB it can only be accomplished by Brazilians, in specific cases we can be analyzing, since it doesn't exist any Law that forbids, foreigners can take the course but the documentation won't have validity in the own country. He/she/you will only be for enrichment of the curriculum and knowledge. 

11 - Being Brazilian and can residing at another country be taken the course?

Yes. The course can be taken at the country where resides; however it will only be able to exercise the function in the country of origin. 

12 - Is the course valid in foreign territory?

No. The course is only valid in national territory. 

13 - After having formed the professional it is registered in some competent organ as Clerkship of Safety of the State or does it Federal Police?

No. The professional should consult Safety's Clerkship and the Federal Polices of the state to know if there is some regulation for that register type. In case they don't do, it won't be forced to enroll in any other place.
